About Us
Our History
George R. Pierce came to Montana in 1913, selling patented medicine on the road in a Ford Model “T.” After marrying Margaret in 1916 and moving to Billings, he held several jobs before starting his own used car business in 1924. Known for his ingenuity and sociable nature, George integrated clever marketing and a strong sense of community into his business. By the late 1930s, he began selling linoleum and gradually expanded into flooring, eventually involving his sons John, Frank, and George L. Pierce after World War II.

Continuing the Legacy
More than a century later, the business remains Montana-owned and family-driven, carrying forward George R. Pierce’s legacy of resilience, innovation, and care, while continuing to prioritize quality products, professional service, and community involvement. Over the years, Pierce Flooring expanded across Montana with locations in Billings, Bozeman, Missoula and Great Falls, offering top-quality flooring, cabinets, and home services. The company now employs over 230 people and is recognized nationally for excellence, staying true to the values of hard work, honesty, and giving back to the community.
